It takes time to reach the top of search engine rankings. There are many bloggers out there still struggling to get their first check from AdSense. Yes, they have been working for a long time but they are missing SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

SEO plays a big role in bringing your content on top of any search engine. Yes, it is very difficult to maintain it and gets very confusing at times too. But, without it, surviving in the blogging world is very difficult. So, to make your blogging life easier for you.

7 Tips To Follow To Write SEO-Friendly Articles

1. Post Title and Meta Title is a Must

You must be clear about your Title and how you want Google or any other search engine to show this title in search results to readers. So, always tend to give a meta title or the Post title becomes your meta title part of meta tags.

Meta Title is the first thing you should do to make your content SEO-rick. Fill meta title with keywords, so that Google can compare your meta title with users’ query and take you high up on search engine rankings.  Your meta title must be under 66 characters.

2. Don’t forget to give Meta Description

You can download SEO plugins like Yoast to give meta description to your article. You might have noticed when you search for any query and the search page opens up. You can see different links and under each link, there are some sentences or words written. Those words or sentences are meta description.

Google also compares the meta description with the user’s query. That’s why meta description plays a vital role in your rankings. You get 156 words to give a meta description. So, add a meta description to every post to get better search engine rankings.

3. Always add image Alt Attribute

Google can’t check out images but read the alternative texts to understand what the particular image is about. So, never forget to give proper names to your images. Giving names like “images001” to your images is a sin.

Yes, it is a sin. Google compares the alternative texts with queries too. So, images001 won’t take you anywhere. Imagine, you have an image of “Eminem” in your blog. Instead of giving it a name like “image001”, fill alt text as “Eminem Wallpaper” or “Eminem Concert”.

Now, when a user will search for Eminem Wallpaper, your image might come on top. Although, it can’t come on top as there are many images with the same alt text before made.

4. Interlink your articles

When you are writing a new post, try to link with the last post which relates to this post. If you have an old post which relates to your current post, then interlink them. You can link it in between your post with the anchor tag.

Now, when a reader comes to your webpage and sees that you have another article related to this post. He/she might go to that linked post too- there are very thick chances of that. This also helps you in reducing your website’s bounce rate and search engines can re-crawl these old posts easily.

Like if you are working on coupon website then you should consider linking your store pages with category links along with post article related in the blog section.

5. Eliminate STOP words from The Permalink

Talking about sins in SEO-rich content, using STOP words in permalink is also a sin. Using words like “a”, an”, “the”, “of”, “to” and some others are simply ignored by any search engine. Yes, we can use them in post titles but using them in permalink is a huge mistake.

Imagine, if you have a post “10 best SEO plugins to use”. Make its permalink as “nest-Seo-plugins” only. Don’t use stop words in it. Also, don’t try to change the permalink if your post is published.

6. Use H1, H2, H3 Headings

For an SEO-rich content, you must be aware of which is the right heading tag. It is one of the most important parts of SEO. Use proper headings i.e use H1, H2, and H3 tags properly. H1 tag is by default for post title and the next sub-heading of the post means H2 tag and next to that is H3 heading and it goes like that ahead. Using proper heading means clean SEO writing. It comes in very handy when you are writing a long post.

7. Have enough backlinks

Backlinking from high DA websites means you are getting some of their traffic to your website. It is also referred to as giving traffic juice. You can reach to any influencer and get backlinks from him or if some website likes your content, it can give you easily on their own.

It is as easy as it gets- more backlinks you have from high DA (Domain Authority) websites, more growth you will have. People are getting paid backlinks in this industry too just for getting high search engine rankings.

You just try to make your content SEO-rich and people will give you the backlinks if they like your content.
