Media Buying is the concept in which companies provide vacant advertisement spaces for advertisers. So, buying of that advertisement space from the company for advertisement is known a Media Buying. People responsible for purchasing time and advertisement space for advertisement are called as Media Buyers.

It is a kind of Display Advertising when an ad is placed on a website, network of websites or an advertising network. It is basically done to drive traffic and increase brand awareness. Media buying is divided into three categories that are Direct Site Buy, Network Buy, Self-Serve Network Buy. Price of media buy depends on the advertising campaign.

Some of the price determining factors on a website is ad position on the page, the number of pages on which ad will appear, size of the ad, time of the ad, traffic received by website etc. A great media buyer is the one who pays attention to every detail, spends time in research, and can negotiate also.
