The Art of SEO-Friendly Content: Techniques for Digital Marketing Excellence

One of the methods of digital marketing that is quite popular nowadays is SEO. SEO stands for search engine optimization, and it is basically the process by which websites are improved and enhanced to rank higher in the search results when users look for them.

Working on the SEO of a website can help bring it more exposure and make it more popular. From a business standpoint, this can be a great way to improve your revenue generation and lead generation.

In this post, we’re going to be looking at some tips and techniques that you can follow to create SEO-friendly content.

Mastering the art of SEO-friendly content: Tips to remember

1.     Prioritize quality over quantity

We’ve seen a lot of people try to work on their websites by just churning out content in large amounts without worrying about its quality. A lot of times, people use AI to just mindlessly create content and keep publishing it. For some people, the mindset is “the more, the better.”

This is not a correct approach to SEO. It may have worked 10 or 12 years back but now, Google (and other search engines) pay attention to the quality of the content that is put out by websites. Spamming the site with low-quality content can get you hit by a penalty more than anything else.

Even if you cannot publish content on a daily or weekly basis, make sure that the stuff you do put out is high-quality. And even that does not have to be very long and lengthy, like a minimum of 3,000 words, etc.

There are various factors and qualities that define “quality” content, such as:

  • Properly researched information
  • Ease of readability and understandability
  • Proper organization and structure
  • The correct writing tone and style
  • The presence of optimized and relevant images

And so forth.

2.     For quality content, take the help of online tools

Stretching the first point a bit, we’re going to talk about how you can create quality content more quickly and easily with the help of online tools.

Nowadays, there are various tools on the Internet that you can use for various tasks in the writing process. For example, if you want to plan your content, you can use outline generators. If you want to create images for your content, you can use graphic designing tools.

From an SEO perspective, there are a few very important aspects of content that you have to pay attention to. In the following list, we’ll be mentioning some of those along with how you can take care of them with online tools.

  • Grammatical correction: It is very important for your content to be grammatically and spelling-wise correct. Even if search engines don’t directly judge this as a ranking factor, it still matters a lot because it can make the difference between a user staying on your site or abandoning it. To ensure grammatical and spelling perfection in your content, you can use an online grammar checker like grammarcheck.ai.
  • Uniqueness: Plagiarism can be very damaging to your content’s quality and it can get your website penalized. You have to make sure that you find and remove all traces of it before the content goes up. To do this, you can use an online plagiarism checker, such as Quetext.
  • Conciseness: Conciseness is also a very important element in your content. The more concise and to the point your content is, the more valuable it becomes. Valuable content is something favored by both search engines and readers. If there are any lengthy parts in your text that you want to shorten in a hurry, you can use summarizing tools like AI Summarizer.

3.     Don’t overuse keywords and don’t adjust them unnaturally

Many people, when writing content for SEO, have certain rules about adjusting keywords. They have a list of primary keywords along with a bunch of secondary keywords that all have to be adjusted a specific number of times.

We’re not saying that this type of approach is wrong. If you’re doing it and it’s working out fine, by all means, you can keep on doing it.

But, what you should not do is a) keyword stuffing and b) unnatural keyword usage.

We prefaced this section with the whole “primary” and “secondary” keyword detail because many writers, in the bid to use all of them the right number of times, end up doing it unnaturally.

Here is an example of what the content should not look like:

Used cars in Dubai are available at our second-hand car dealership UAE. Buy second hand vehicle near me in Dubai.

We’re not being satirical. We’ve seen stuff like this ourselves.

Nowadays, in 2024, we don’t even push people to follow the 1% or 2% rule. If you’re writing 1,000 words and you can naturally adjust the main focus keyword 3 to 4 times, you’re golden. The same goes for secondary keywords.

4.     Pay proper attention to external and internal linking

This is another important aspect of SEO to keep in mind. This can be somewhat neglected by many people—we’ve been guilty of this ourselves…which gives us the idea.

Adding the correct number of internal links in the content makes it more helpful. For example, if you are talking about a very vast and expansive topic, you can add internal links to the names of any difficult concepts that you talk about in it. This can make the reader go from one page to the other and stay on the website longer.

That causes an increase in dwell time.

Notice how we just added a link to the word “dwell time?” We did that because we know some of our readers may be reading about it for the first time.

Of course, other than internal links, you should also add external links. For example, if there is a topic or a concept that you haven’t written about on your own site, you can add a link pointing to another website. External linking also helps in establishing the relevancy and informational authority of your website content in the eyes of search engines.

Final Thoughts

For a post that wanted to talk about the art of “mastering SEO-friendly content,” just four tips may seem a little few. But we did try and make them comprehensive.

In the first section, we’ve talked about content quality and the various things that you can do to ensure it. In the second section, we’ve talked about one of the most important elements of SEO writing, i.e., keyword usage. In the last heading, we’ve pointed out the importance of internal and external linking.

We hope you learned something useful here that will help you in your SEO writing process. Be back for more awesome content on our website.
