Ways To Make Your Blog More Visible In The Search Engine

Why is it worth getting interested in seo? Everyone repeats like a mantra that good content is the basis. But what about the content when nobody knows about it? I remember that it was hard to start a blog at the beginning. Each recommendation was worth its weight in gold, and I admit, it still is – this is the best form of promotion for a blog. Honest praise from another blogger gives you a lot. However, it is also worth taking matters into your own hands. If the reader is looking for an answer to a specific question, and you have published a post on this topic – get found! This is what SEO is for – so that your entries are visible in the search engine.

Most SEO tutorials are dedicated to wordpress plugins or websites in general that probably don’t tell you anything. Some will just tell you to buy Facebook followers and get on with your day.  However, a few changes can be made to the blogger to make the blog more visible and some entries on this subject were created. Since I get a lot of questions from readers about SEO on the blogger, I decided to write what changes I made on my blog. Today I wanted to focus on things that are enough to do ONCE. You don’t need to remember this when publishing every post. Just take a moment to see the difference soon. In the next post I will write what to remember when publishing a note.

Now we’ll begin!

COMPLETE THE BLOG TITLE

Automatically, of course, the blogger will assign the name of the blog by downloading data from the address, but it may look like this: cosmetic-blog-ani. Not very interesting, is it? Ania’s Cosmetic Blog looks so much better! However, you can effectively use this place to indicate the topic of your blog. In addition to the blog name, it is worth adding a few words describing what you can find on it. It can look like this: Ania’s blog – a beauty blog, or the name of the blog – DIY, Inspirations, Curiosities.

To complete the blog title, just enter the blog panel – settings – basic. At the top, just edit the “title” box.

COMPLETE THE BLOG DESCRIPTION

If you are already filling in the title box, make sure to note the one just below it as well. The description is no less important, I would even say more important. Here you can expand the description of your blog topic a bit. In a few sentences, write something about your website, making sure that it reflects what is on it as much as possible. Use words that you would enter into the search engine when looking for such topics.

ADD KEYWORDS

To focus even more on the topic of your blog, it’s worth adding keywords. Go to the blog panel – template – edit the html code. In the case of a beauty blog, the keywords could be, for example, a beauty blog, cosmetics, beauty, care, reviews, perfumes, etc.

CONVERT THE POST TITLE TAGS TO H1

Now we will move on to the major changes to the code. You can easily enter the instructions from steps 4 and 5 on each template provided in the template designer. In templates downloaded on the web, the matter may be a bit different – in some of these changes have already been made (templates to buy on carographs are already with changes), in others you may have a problem finding the codes given below.

In standard templates, the blogger gives the post titles the h3 tag. Of course, each of the h tags is important, so it is worth using subtitles and headings in your posts, but h1 is the most valuable for search engines. The title of the post suggests what can be found in a specific post, so it’s important that the search engine sees it.

How do I change the tags from h3 to h1?

For starters, I always advise you to make a backup of your template (see how to make a backup ). It is enough to forget about one character for the template to “fall apart”. If you are afraid to make changes to the template code yourself, get help from someone who knows how to do it.

Enter template – edit html code and search (ctrl + f) “h3”. Replace each of the h3 tags with h1. Just remember that every tag has a beginning and an end and you need to change.

TITLE OF THE POST BEFORE THE TITLE OF THE BLOG

Pay attention to the browser window when you open the post. It probably shows your blog name at the top, followed by your post title. Time to change that. Of course, the title of the blog is also important, but admit that more often the reader looks for an answer than a specific type of blog? Unfortunately, search engines only show a certain number of characters in the title. For Google, it is 66 characters. If the blog title appears first, it takes a dozen characters. If the title is long, you may find that it gets truncated and your keywords are hidden from view. Besides, the most important thing is what appears at the beginning.

You should be able to deal with this change without any problems, although you need to consult the code

CONNECT YOUR BLOG WITH GOOGLE+

Google+, although not very popular, can increase the visibility of your posts in the search engine. How? Among other things, sharing a link on Google+ speeds up the indexing of the page to which the link leads. When, shortly after publication, I checked the visibility of the post in the search engine, usually the link shared in G + appeared first, and only then the post itself. In addition, if someone has you in the circles, then after entering the query, your entries are more likely to appear. And if someone shares your G + entry, it is more likely that he will be displayed to your friend’s friends, etc.

If you do not like using Google+, you can automatically connect the blogger’s account to it – then each post will automatically appear on g +. It is also worth adding the g + 1 button to your blog – it has more value than like!

How do I link a blog to Google+?

Go to the blog panel – Google+. After connecting, check the box “share automatically after publishing” – thanks to this, each post that appears on the blog will automatically appear in your google + stream. If you have several blogs or you do not want to connect your private account, there is nothing to prevent you from setting up a blog profile – something similar to the Facebook page. I wrote about it some time ago in the post How to connect a blogger with a blog google +. I have created a separate Page for each blog, although of course you can also follow my private account, where there are sneak peeks of posts from both blogs.
