What is eCommerce Marketplace?

Online market place is known as e-commerce which means electronic commerce where buying and selling of goods takes place between customers and producers directly. Many online companies have evolved in last few years supporting online buying and selling for instance, Jabong, Amazon, Kooves, Shopclues, etc. Ecommerce is just like physical retail but digitally. It has made shopping comfortable and easier. Almost everything tangible can now be bought online like, books, furniture, clothes, gadgets, household elements, grocery and what not.

But it is not as easy as ABC; online retailing takes a lot of hard work too like,

  • it needs a perfectly made website to work on which constantly needs repairing and augmentation,
  • a product inventory is needed for the consumers to look and buy products, it obviously should include pictures to make it look promising,
  • shopping cart must be included where the consumer can add whatever she/he want to purchase like in shopping malls,
  • then, comes payment processing, shipping fee and tax calculation, this will help the customer to revise her/his list before payment,
  • last but not the least is delivery, which should be safe because the customers won’t want their product to be damaged.

E-commerce has made a perfect connection between a producer, the intermediary – company and consumers. It places all the three sets of connectors in a profitable state. The products are sold easily, the company buys product in bulk in less amount, and the consumers are allured towards the discounted product through ads. Discount causes more demand, more demand means more production which leads to more sale and profit for everyone.

Well, advertisements also play a very crucial role. Snapdeal has sponsored the Bigg Boss 9 show and thus plenty advertisements are screened in the show whether it is the contestants shopping from the site or it is ‘snapdeal, dil ki deal call’ from an outsider for the contestants. An astonishing range of snapdeal products are used in the show to promote the site. Shahrukh Khan also acted for Big Basket for shopping groceries online. Advertisements like these make the consumers to buy online like these celebrities. Thus, new ads are always needed to promote the website.

Ecommerce may take a very crucial space in our next generation where one would not like to go out for shopping but sit at home and shop.
